greetings! it's so good to find this community. i know a couple other people in colorado springs looking for support. i'll have to direct them to this community!
my name is cheryl and i'm 23. i grew up just outside of new orleans. i also grew up with southern food and in one of the fattest states in the country. when i entered college in colorado springs, i was 180. i slowly crept up to 200 and when i quit smoking two years ago, i hit 225. i did the atkins diet for about four months and lost 50 pounds. however as soon as i started eating anything but low carb i started gaining weight.
i'm back up to 230. i have a lot of trouble with my weight because i have hypothyroidism. i can look at a donut and gain five pounds. i just joined a gym (much like curves) this past week. i've lost five pounds so far. i've also decided not to go back to total low carb and instead just watch portion sizes and make healthy eating choices. this time around i'd rather lose the weight more slowly.
I might have to join this. Lately Im just watching what I eat, seeing a personal trainer twice a week and trying to do something active every day.

Maybe this can help
My name’s Marianne, and I'd like to share my story so far...
I weighed 100kgs and had problems with my metabolism. The wonky metabolism meant eating half as much and exercising twice as much. I wasn’t sure anything could work for me. But I stumbled across an amazing program.
When the first kg’s came off I started to get really excited. Before starting the program I was always tired and I hated the way I looked. Losing weight has transformed my attitude. I’m bursting with energy and my confidence has sky-rocketed. The best part is I’m fitting into clothes that have sat in my wardrobe for years. Take a look at: http://gr8healthrus.com for more info.
I have a way to go yet before I reach my goal weight, but I know this is working. Its the first program that ever did!
